PC-IFD (Intensity Frequency Duration calculator) Download the FREE Demo
PC-IFD calculates rainfall intensities for standard Average Recurrence Intervals (ARIs) in accordance with the method described in Australian Rainfall and Runoff (AR&R) 1997, Book II. You enter the Input data using the appropriate Map in AR&R (hovering the cursor over the input box reminds you which Map or Figure to use).

You can then view or print the rainfall intensities (or TOTALS) for standard Average Recurrence Intervals from 1 year to 500 years, for a range of user-selectable durations between 5 minutes and 72 hours:

For a known rainfall intensity and duration you can obtain an estimate of the Average Recurrence Interval of the event. Right-clicking in the Duration input boxes provides a list of common durations:

You can also output the results to a .txt file that can be read into a spreadsheet program, and the Input data can be added to an existing Location file such as those used by RORB or HydroTools.
Help on all program aspects is available from within the program.
